Founder & Managing Director, Credence Solar Panels Private Limited
Ashvinkumar C. Boda is an Electrical Engineering graduate and the founder of Credence Solar Panels Private Limited, the Rajkot based manufacturer behind a fully automated 2.2 GW solar module facility. He has spent 26 years in industry, moving from electrical installation work on large plant sites to running manufacturing businesses in electrical panels, pre engineered building structures and now solar photovoltaics.
He founded Credence Solar in 2021. In the five years since, the company has taken its module manufacturing capacity from 200 MW to 2.2 GW and became one of the first Indian manufacturers to commercially introduce G12 format solar modules to the domestic market. His approach to the business is consistent across all three of his ventures: adopt the newer manufacturing technology early, automate what can be automated, and hold the line on quality rather than price.

Ashvinkumar C. Boda took an unusual route into solar manufacturing. He did not arrive from finance or from a family trading business. He arrived from the shop floor.
After completing his B.E. in Electrical Engineering, he began his career as an electrician, first with Larsen & Toubro and then, from 1998 to 2000, with Reliance Industries Limited. Those early years put him on live industrial sites, working on electrical installations and watching how large plants are actually built and commissioned. The technical grounding he picked up there still shows in how he runs a factory today, in his preference for measurable process control over supplier assurances.
By 2000 he had close to five years of site experience and decided to work for himself. What followed was two decades of building manufacturing businesses, each one a step further up the value chain, ending in a 2.2 GW automated solar module plant on the Rajkot Jamnagar Highway.
Ashvin Boda runs his businesses on a simple test: does the process hold up when nobody is watching it. That is why the Rajkot plant was automated rather than staffed up, why every module goes through triple EL testing instead of sampling, and why the company publishes real time bill of materials updates for buyers who want to see what went into their order.
He is direct about the trade off involved. Automation and testing cost more per module than the alternative. The return comes later, in field performance, in warranty claims that do not arrive, and in EPC customers who reorder without renegotiating. For a manufacturer selling into 25 year projects, he treats that trade off as the only sensible one.
Ashvin Boda's stated ambition for Credence Solar is a manufacturer that Indian project developers can specify without hedging, one that competes on measurable module performance rather than on import substitution alone. The cell plant announced in 2026 is the next step: bringing cell production in house so that quality control starts earlier in the process and supply becomes less exposed to conditions outside India.
More broadly, he sees India's solar manufacturing base as still early. Capacity has grown quickly, but capability, the ability to make advanced cell and module technology at scale and to a consistent standard, is where he believes the next decade will be decided.
"I spent the first years of my career on other people's sites, fixing what had been built badly. That taught me more about manufacturing than anything since. If the process is right, the product takes care of itself."
Ashvinkumar C. Boda, Founder & Managing Director
Ashvinkumar C. Boda is the Founder and Managing Director of Credence Solar Panels Private Limited. He established the company in 2021 and has more than 26 years of experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing and infrastructure.
He holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering. He applied that training first in industrial electrical installation work and later in building manufacturing businesses across electrical panels, pre engineered buildings and solar PV modules.
He began as an electrician, working with Larsen & Toubro and then with Reliance Industries Limited from 1998 to 2000. He moved into independent electrical contracting in 2000 and founded his first company in 2001.
He founded SN Company in 2001, M/s. Ascent Engineers in 2010, M/s. Deepjyot Engineers Pvt. Ltd. in 2012, and Credence Solar Panels Private Limited in 2021. His ventures span industrial supply, electrical panel manufacturing, pre engineered building structures and solar module manufacturing.
Credence Solar expanded its module manufacturing capacity from 200 MW to 2.2 GW within five years, became one of the first Indian manufacturers to commercially introduce G12 modules, and was first in India to offer BIS certified modules up to 745 W.
He is based in Rajkot, Gujarat, where Credence Solar operates its 2.2 GW module manufacturing facility on the Rajkot Jamnagar Highway in Padadhari.
